MetaTalkUS represents the English language variant of the MetaTalk application, featuring vocabulary and voices exclusively in English.

MetaTalk is a symbol-based communication tool designed for individuals using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). It facilitates interaction for users with limited or no voice capabilities, offering three preconfigured vocabularies that allow immediate use. Customization options are straightforward and always accessible to suit individual needs.

The application is built upon METACOM symbols, renowned for their clarity and professional aesthetic. Its intuitive structure enables both beginners and family members without specialized AAC training to learn and gradually expand their communication skills.

Vocabularies include:

• Three preloaded sets with varying sizes and content
• Approximately 2000/1500/1000 words and phrases in MetaTalkUS.5x9, MetaTalkUS.4x7, and MetaTalkUS.3x5 configurations
• American English vocabulary suitable for everyday communication, including common phrases
• An easy-to-understand organizational structure
• Most-used items prominently displayed, such as "I would like", "not", "to", "There is" (configurable)
• Automatic linking of pronouns ("I", "you", "he", etc.) with appropriate verb forms ("go", "goes", etc.). A long-press feature (optional) allows direct access to specific verb forms, bypassing pronouns
• Inclusion of various verb tenses: present, past, gerund, and past participle
• Theme-based categories containing core vocabulary, useful phrases, and related questions to facilitate quick interactions
• Phrases and questions for initiating conversations, such as "My name is"/"What is your name?" and "I like"/"What do you like?"
• A dedicated page with talk-buttons featuring recorded messages
• Project management pages tailored for educational settings
• A day planner segmented into morning and afternoon sections
• The METACOM6 symbol library comprising over 5,000 items

Functional features include:

• Synthesized speech utilizing Acapela voices, available in male and female options
• Customizable keys with text labels and images from photo albums or the device camera (>iPad2)
• Easy addition of symbols and texts through drag-and-drop from the library
• Ability to rearrange keys or create new pages as needed
• Options to assign colors to keys for visual distinction
• Themes for hiding or revealing specific keys or pages
• A MemoBox feature for storing complete sentences or messages
• Options to copy or save memos as text or images
